| Welcome to the Cytokine Information Database |

The cytokine information database is provided as a public service to help visitors better understand cytokines and their involvement in the the immune system and disease pathogenesis.
It has become quite popular to do cytokine testing as part of regular discovery research as well as part of supportive research. Cytokine and chemokine data has become the all important third component for validation of you experiment. However, the best way to perform the testing can be elusive.
Relative to other fields, so little is known about cytokines and their value in research extends far beyond immunology; but with so many cytokines it is a daunting task to decide which are the best cytokines to involve in your own research. Plus, cytokine testing can be a major financial commitment, especially if you intend to measure multiple cytokines. It pays to do your research before hand, and seek some advice.
The focus of this site is to provide information about each cytokine, summarize recent research, and describe the general cytokine profiles found in various circumstances. I have spent many years doing multiplex cytokine testing and have tested samples from very diverse sample types. If you are planning to do cytokine testing in the future, whether a single cytokine or multiplexed, and do not know what to expect in your research or the best testing method to employ, send me an e-mail or call me at 435-258-6523, I would be happy to help as best I can.
This site is in its infancy. I will update it with information as I have time, but if you have a specific subject you would like covered or have information to include (especially if you have done cytokine testing and can provide profiles for certain diseases, send me an e-mail at justinhoopes @ cytokinetesting.com, and I will make sure it is included.
